Bus tours to Florence, Assisi, Pompei, Sorrento, Capri and to the Amalfi coast are arranged by bus ride.

Just south of Rome, high up above the Eternal City, this friendly villages lie in a vast area, literally covered by superb vineyards, forests, large olive groves. You will have the opportunity to relax for a few hours away from the busy city. Passing the Caracalla Baths and the Appian Way the bus reaches Castelgandolfo, summer residence of the Pope, overlooking one of the deepest volcanic lakes. Continue to Albano (formerly Albalonga) from where the founders of Rome originated, Ariccia with its breathtaking bridge, Genzano famous for its flower carnival, Nemi the town of wild strawberries which overlooks the enchanting lake called "Mirror of Goddess Diana".Then a ride along the Via dei Laghi, past Rocca di Papa and Grottaferrata to Frascati, where you can taste the Frascati wine.

Lake of Castelgandolfo

Ostia is comparable to a little Pompei. It was the ancient port of Rome founded in IV Centry b.C. As the power of Rome became greater, Ostia became more important mainly as a Navy base, but also as the "Emporium of Rome" and as a passage-way of important representatives of the cultural and political life of thet period. The decline of Ostia came together with the financial and political crisis of the Roman Empire. The sacks from the centuries to the city which was by then virtually without defence, but still rich of precioous materials, convinced the few people who were still living there, to finally evacuate the city, and Ostia nowadays is like it was: an entirecity, in its shape and outlines in which one can perfecly read what the life in the Roman age was like. Ostia excavations, started at the beginning of last century, make it inevitable a comparison with Rome, not as far as the architectonic value magically leads us into this.ancient world, admiring the two main street: soon after the entrance the Ancient Necropolis, Piazzale della ittoria, Neptune thermae with wonderful mosaic, the Firemen head-quarters, the Theatre built by Agrippa, Via dei Mulini and Diana's house. We reach the forum Thermae, the Basilica and the Round Temple. Outside the city the Synagogue, which was the most ancient seat of Hebraism in the Western world. Return to the hotel or nearest point.

SCHEDULE

After only 30 mins trip, following Via dei Fori Imperiali with view of the Colosseum, Tiberine Island and the Synagogue, crossing the Tiber and going along the Via del Mare, the bus will reach Ancient Ostia. After the visit return at central Rome.

The ruins can only hint at the grandeur and beauty of this Villa which the Emperor Hadrian had built to remind of the monuments and sites he had admired during his travels in the East. About 30 minutes from the city of Rome, Tivoli was built on the slopes of the Sabine Hills. Hadrian's Villa was built in the second century A.D. as a country residence. It features the imperial palace, baths, libraries, and gardens full of sculptures and pools. Visit also of the Villa D'Este, one of the most beautiful residences of the Renaissance. The Villa's countless fountains, set in the heart of magnificent Italian style gardens, create a delightfully graceful symphony of carved stone, shade, sunlight and water.

SCHEDULE

A drive throughout the Roman contryside up to Tivoli. Visit Villa Adriana and Villa D'Este, one of the most enchanting of the late Renaissance period. Its gardens with countless fountains and cascades are considered as one of the wonders in the vicinity of Rome. Return to central Rome at about 7 - 7,30 pm.

We arrange convenient bus tours to Tivoli, Florence, Siena, Pisa, Assisi, Orvieto, Pompei, Positano, Naples, Capri, Sorrento; The costs vary depending on the itinerary and some of these tours can last 10 or 12 hours with departure at 7,30 am. We greatly recommend this kind of tours since are all accompanied by very informative guides and the breathtaking panoramas of the Coast will make your trip a memorable experience. Overnight tours to the Amalfi Coast and Capri are also available. For tours to Siena, Pisa, Venice, Orvieto, Positano,Capri please ask the Innkeeper for rates and availability.

A memorable day: Naples, Pompei Sorrento: every day. One day excursion with lunch and informative guided tour of the excavations, all included in the cost. Departure from Central Rome at about 7.30 am. Leave Rome, following the Autostrada del Sole Halfway to Naples the Abbey of Montecassino. Then on to Naples. First, a short sightseeing tour of the city. Then on to Pompei for lunch at a restaurant and visit the excavations. The tour then continues to Sorrento. Arrival in Rome at about 9.00 - 9.30 pm return to central Rome. Available all year.
